Solo Exhibition, Galerie Peter Kilchmann, Zurich

Spectral Paintings | The solo exhibition opens 2 November — 22 December 2023. With Spectral Paintings, Galerie Peter Kilchmann Zurich features a series of new works by Swiss painter Andy Denzler. The paintings are a further evolution of his approach to create plains of imagination and projection and increase the artist’s scope by capturing transient moments rooted in our collective memory.

Hängung #23, Zwischenzeit, March 21 - Mai 2, 2021

Kunstwerk Sammlung Klein shows in this museum group show six of Andy Denzler’s earlier works among other artists such as Michelangelo Pistoletto, Arnulf Rainer, Gunter Damisch. These works are portraits or representations of people in an indefinite setting or surrounded by landscape. You see them in action, remaining in movement, captured in snapshots. In his pictorial rendering of the motifs, Andy Denzler initially follows a concept characterised by the realistic but then takes the characteristic and crucial step for his work: creating horizontal tracks in the top layer of the still wet oil paint, as if he were blotting out anything accidental from the present, elevating the image to another, abstract level of time and reality. https://sammlung-klein.de/en/exposition/news-and-tour/
